Quick view forms are new types of forms introduced in Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013. A quick view form can be added to another form and can display read only information from another entity. This means you no longer have to duplicate the same fields on a related entity and map the fields.
The New OOB Account form contains an example of this form where it displays Primary Contact’s email and phone number. The Contact Card form is a quick create form and can be modified to include more fields and grids from the contact entity.
Quick view form fields are associated with a lookup field that is included on the main form. If the lookup field value is not set, the quick view fields will not be visible. Data in these fields are not editable on the main form (read only).
The quick create forms are great new feature but there are some limitations:
- Do not support form scripts
- Cannot include header or footer
- Cannot be deactivated
- Cannot assign security roles to them
