Splitting up CRM 2013 Composite Fields

Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2013 introduced new Composite fields for forms. Instead of having the Address fields separately on the form, there is a single Address 1 field which when clicked will open up a fly-out menu where you can edit the individual address fields.

Unfortunately, there is no supported way to change which fields are displayed in the Composite fly-out or to update the labels for those fields. As a workaround, you can remove the Composite field from the form, and re-add the individual fields. For example, a user may want to only enter a Last Name for a Lead and would like the label to be Facility instead.

With the Composite field, this isn’t possible. Instead, you can put the Last Name field on the form, update its label and then remove the Composite Name field.

Also note the Last Name field must be put on the form before removing the Name field since it is a required field.
